Moxibustion

Traditionally, the moxa is a composition based on wormwood which is dried and ground. It can be packaged as a cigar with the burning tip directed at the point of acupuncture for stimulation. It can be rolled into a ball that is then ignited on a coin which is perforated in its centre, or it can be used as an ointment that is applied as a thick layer to the affected area.
