Suction Cup

In traditional medicine, the suction cup is a container, usually a bell-shaped glass, designed to heal by inducing a "revulsion" by a suction effect on the skin. To heat the air and induce a relative vacuum as it cools, it inserts a compress, cotton soaked in methylated spirits and flaming in the container. The flame goes out spontaneously when the air is consumed. The vacuum is then applied to the back of the person to be treated, so that as it cools, its contraction produces a powerful suction effect.

Effects:

• stimulation of blood flow
• stimulation of the metabolism (elimination of toxins)
• loosening of scar tissue or adhesions
• normalisation of tension and tissue elasticity
• reduction in pain
• stimulation of internal organs by reflex through the skin
